The Earth Day community service (April 2014).

Visit to Mother and Child Center for Women (22 February 2014). Within the project initiated by the Access students at the Access Summit in Kiev, on the 22nd of February Donetsk Access students visited the Mother and Child Center for Women which is run by Rinat Akhmetov's Foundation Development of Ukraine (http://www.fdu.org.ua/en/family/save_family). The students highlighted the importance of prevention of child abandonment, raised a question of reducing the number of orphans in our country. The students showed several presentations, role played some situations, showed their talents and thus encouraged the mothers to care for their children.

St. Valentine's day with the volunteer from Brazil (14 February 2014)

Education fair (24 January 2014, Donbass Palace). Representatives from the US and UK colleges and high schools were answering the questions about study opportunities in both countries. Access students listened to their presentations and learned about the process of applying and studying. Students had a chance to ask questions and practise their English too.

New Year and Christmas enhancement activities (21 December 2013).

Columbus Day (October 2013). Ten Access students were selected to share their knowledge about this American holiday with the new Access group (2nd cohort), did a number of quizzes with them and performed a play on this topic. Video: http://youtu.be/M2SuyAYqBzo (Linguist Prime channel)

Visit of Eve Smith (24 October 2013). Eve Smith, Senior EL Fellow (US Department of State) visited Access students and played a game called “Jeopardy” with them. The English specialist Mike Martucci who is based in Donetsk helped Eve and observed the lesson.

Visit of Mike Martucci (September 2013). The English language specialist Mike Martucci visited the Access class when he observed the students and helped the teacher at the lesson. Mike's primary goal this time was to notice and correct students' pronunciation.

Visit to the rehabilitation center for children Raduga (07 June 2013). Students acted and role-played some situations in front of the public. Then, together with the children from Raduga center, they created a poster and played several games in English.

Memorial Day (31 May 2013). Before visiting the memorial, students were given relevant vocabulary on this topic, did quizzes and pair work activities. After in-class discussions students and teachers went to the monument to Victims of Repressions where they laid flowers and paid tribute by a silence minute and cleaned the territory nearby.

Within the intensive session (June 2013) students had English classes which involved work with the main coursebook of the program Cambridge Interchange, conversations on different topics from the book with the focus on the U.S. culture. In addition to the coursebook, students were taught the main events from the U.S. history. As a way of consolidation, the group showed some drama skits. Students also worked with Rosetta Stone software and were involved in social media activities online. Moreover, during the intensive session students had a chance to communicate in English with AISEC (http://aiesec.ua/ ) volunteer from Georgia.
